“A Taste of the Mornington Peninsula” Wine and Golf Tour

The Mornington Peninsula lying between Port Phillip and Westernport Bays and the tempestuous Bass Straight provides miles of rolling green hills dotted with 170 tranquil vineyards and is fringed by clean sandy beaches. The peninsula has blossomed in the past few years to offer a wealth of enjoyment for the most discerning wine lover. Golf courses proliferate on the peninsula and many are among Australia’s most scenic and challenging. Guests will have the opportunity of visiting wineries before continuing to either the National Golf Club Courses at Cape Schanck or to the historic Point Nepean Quarantine Station for lunch. These wineries include:

Stonier Winery established in 1978 now produces spectacular wines that have won international and national acclaim. The Stonier Reserve Pinot Noir, Chardonnay Stonier Curve and Stonier Cabernet are recognised as some of the best Australian wines which are exported overseas.

Paringa Estate. This award winning winery is well known for its top shelf Pinot Noir, Riesling & Shiraz. Guests will have the opportunity of meeting winemaker Lindsay McCall and learning of the process behind producing winning vintages.

Montalto Estate provides a magnificent piazza to enjoy wine tasting, cheeses and olives. Discover the history of olive cultivation and enjoy the succulent olive oils fresh from the press before strolling through the magnificent sculpture park and garden.

Red Hill Estate is the home of the famous Max Restaurant where chef Max will createa spectacular alfresco morning tea to compliment the sparkling wines, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay served at the tasting.

Port Phillip Estate. One of the most scenic vineyards on the Peninsula producing Estate grown Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Kooyong wines are also available on this Estate and are well known for excellent Pinot Gris.

Eldridge Estate of Red Hill. Explore handcrafted wines of excellence which are estate grown, made and bottled from old vines. Taste the sensuous Pinot Noir, celestial Chardonnay and Garnay, fabulous fizz and funky Fume Blanc.

Elgee Park Wines. Established in 1972 Elgee boasts a north facing vineyard in a natural amphitheatre overlooking Port Phillip Bay. This tasting provides the experience of a wonderful sparkling wine.

World Class Coastal Golf Experience

A golf experience has been arranged at the spectacular National Golf Club of Cape Schanck.
This golf club is one of the premier private clubs with three courses rated within Australia’s top ten. The golf group will hace time for a wine tasting and morning tea before arriving at the spectacular lush undulating terrain and rugged coastal course to participate in a rolling tee off on courses designed by Greg Norman and Peter Thompson. Lunch will be held in the National Golf Club.

Historic Point Nepean Quarantine Station and Picnic Lunch

Travel through the Hinterland to quaint seaside villages to Point Nepean National Park. A spectacular picnic lunch will showcase the local produce and boutique vintage wines of the region. An historian will speak briefly of the first settlers and Quarantine Station’s story before providing a guided tour of the historic tunnels and fortifications.
